I found a video of Camilla Scott, the first female actress to portray Khashoggi, performing Seven Seas of Rhye at the Toronto Life Square. She is a pretty good singer and she adds something interesting to Khashoggi's character. Apparently, Ben Elton is a huge fan of her. This is what he had to to say when they announced that she would be playing the role of Khashoggi: " What better way to celebrate the continued success of WWRY in the city of Rock than to welcome one of Toronto's foremost theater stars into our cast! Brian May, Roger Taylor and myself have long been aware of Camilla Scott's huge talent as an actress. And as for that incredible voice; WOW! When the wind's in the right direction, we can hear her in Britain. Up until now, the role of Khashoggi, the secret policeman, has always been played by a man, but why should guys get all the juicy evil villain roles? Queen has always believed in equality of the sexes and in Camilla Scott we have found a performer without an equal. She WILL Rock You!" Here's a picture of her as Khashoggi: Here's the vid:

Well... she is a good singer. Her voice is very strong! But I still can't rap my head around the idea of Khashoggi being a woman, even though I've seen the performance with Camilla 3 times already!

I also prefer Khashoggi as more of a white/ blonde person too... But thats because I've only seen Alex Bourne as Khashoggi in the London show. From what I gather from the script the role strikes me as being more of a blokeish role - not that I've got anything against a woman Khashoggi!! - But... I dunno... It seems... strange... if you kinda understand what I mean... I can imagine that the script has gone through quite a few changes because of it. Just out of curiosity, do you know if the understudy male or female?

Well, they actually didn't make many huge changes to the script, even though there are certain lines that would sound a little strange coming from a woman.
" As usual madame, you leave me limp... with excitement!"
It just doesn't fit coming from a woman!
And yeah, the understudy is a woman now too. It would be strange if Khashoggi just keeps going through gender changes every once in a while!
