Scaramouche continued to sob in Galileo's arms, her face buried into his chest. She took some deep, trembling breaths, trying to calm herself as she felt Galileo rub her back and his lips brush the top of her head. She blinked and stared up at him when he titled her head up towards his, asking her once more what was wrong. She glanced away from him, not wanting to meet his questioning, concerned gaze, but she knew that he had to know the truth, no matter how worried she was about his reaction to it.
Scaramouche stepped back and swallowed hard, glancing around the room, towards the discarded pregnancy test near the door. She then looked back up into Galileo's eyes. " I think I'm pregnant..." she mumbled, pulling herself away from Galileo's arms and turning away from him, pulling nervously on a lock of her purple hair.

Galileo felt the instant lost of heat as Scaramouche pulled away from him, unable to meet his gaze. He watched her glance around the room, determined not to meet his gaze. Anxiety bubbled beneath the surface of Galileo's skin as he watched her desperate attempt to avoid him. Her gaze lingered on something by the door; Galileo turned to follow her gaze, his curiousity mounting. His eyes found some white plastic that resembled something similar to a pen. Casting a curious look over his shoulder at his girlfriend, he walked towards it, bending down to pick it up.
Turning back to face Scaramouche, he held the plastic tube in the palm in his hand, Scaramouche's words only just registering. "Your... pregnant?" he asked, swallowing the lump that had suddenly appeared at the back of his throat. "As in... baby pregnant?" He watched as Scaramouche played with her purple hair. Galileo realised just how vulnerable she looked at that moment. He could only imagine how she felt.
Galileo sniffed as he looked back down at the white plastice tube in the palm of his hand. If Scaramouche was pregnant then she was going to be a mum. Which ment the baby have to have a dad. Was it possible that the baby... No, Scaramouche wouldn't cheat. She's not like that. She'd sooner punch someone rather than do that... "Scaramouche?" he asked cautiously. "If your having a baby... does that make me the dad?" he asked, looking at her hopefully.
But was Galileo really ready for this. Was he prepared to make that step from being an 'over-grown child' to an adult with responsibilities; a father figure?

Scaramouche continued to tug on her hair and she bit her lip nervously when Galileo walked over to the test on the floor and picked it up. Even though she was terrified at this moment, she couldn't help but feel slighty annoyed when Galileo questioned her about if she was pregnant.
" I don't know Figgy, what other type of pregnancy is there?!" she let out a sigh, Galileo could be so clueless sometimes.
Her eyes widened when he asked if he would be the father. Did he honlestly think she would cheat on him? Of all his little personality quirks she had learned to fall in love with over the year, paranoia definatly wasn't one of them.
" No, that would make you the mum! What do you think!" she spat, rolling her eyes. Her flare of anger faded away and was quickly replaced with fear once more. She sat down on their messy bed and hugged her knees against her chest.
" What if I am pregant?" she asked, partially to herself. She looked up at Galileo, fear welling up inside of her. " I'm not mothering material!" she cried, her voice raising as panic began to take over.
Scaramouche stood up suddenly, green eyes wild with fear. " Look at me!" she screamed, tugging on her black sweater, tears welling up in her eyes. " I'm the loner, the loser, the FREAK!" Her raised voice faded to a whimper and she sat down once again, rapping her arms around her stomach and staring blankly ahead.
"I'm no mum..." she mumbled, shaking slightly with fear.

Galileo blinked. He should be used to Scaramouche's outbursts and often hurtful insults she frequently hurled at everyone. He looked back down at the white plastic stick in his hand, the ghost of a frown upon his face. He looked up from under his eyebrows, watching as the love of his life stopped mid pace and sat down on the bed, the covers strewn everywhere as a result of many nights restless sleep.
Carefully placing the offending item on one of the side draws, Galileo looked back at Scaramouche, taking in her rugged appearance. She definately looked like she had not slept properly for a long while. He listened as she spoke, barely managing to hold his tongue as she let out her frustrations. Within the space of less than ten minutes his heart had broken into a million little pieces, his world shattering around him; he felt helpless.
"No Scaramouche," he denied, crossing the room to sit next her on the bed. "You're none of them things. You never have been." He pulled her into his arms, wrapping his arms around her in a fierce, bear-like hug, as though he was protecting her from the evil that surrounded them. He rocked her back and forth within the circle of his arms, whispering words of comfort in her ear while peppering her forehead with soft kisses.
He pulled back slightly, looking at her through his dark eyes. "Scaramouche, you will make a great mum. Whether that be now or ten years from now." He brushed her fringe out of her eyes softly, the pads of his fingers lightly brushing the pale skin of her forehead. He cast a glance back at the pregnancy test before meeting Scaramouche's eyes. "How long have you known?" he asked, trying to be grown up for once.

Scaramouche took some deep breaths, trembling slightly after her outburst. She closed her eyes and leaned into the familiar warmth of Galileo's comforting arms, listening to his gentle soothing words. She stared up into his deep, questioning eyes when he asked her how long she knew. She flinched slightly and pulled out of his arms, not wanting to tell him but wanting to at the same time.
" I started to feel sick about a few days before you left..." she whimpered, hoping he wouldn't be upset about her not talking to him about this sooner. She glanced up into his face then quickly looked away.

The cold air filled the empty space that Scaramouche had just vacated, causing a shiver to ripple through Galileo's body. Scaramouche was hiding something: Galileo had a feeling he wouldn't like the out come of it.
"Scaramouche?" he asked nervously.
Her revelation stunned him: that long? How had he missed the signs... "But... but..." he stammered, blinking stupidly. "Before I left?" Galileo blinked then flopped backwards on the bed, bringing his hands to his forehead; he dragged them down the length of his face as he mutter to himself. "How did I miss the signs..." He sat back up slowly, drawing deep breaths into his lungs. He looked at her, still stunned by everything.
"So let me get this straight," he began. "You started to feel sick before I left. You then found out to were... pregnant... and you've been afraid to tell me?" he asked incredulously. He paused, chewing on the inside of his lip. How was he going to phrase his next question without it coming out wrong?
"Scaramouche," he began. "Do you... Do you know... Do you want to keep it?" he held his breath, wondering what her answer would be. He hoped it was the same one as his...

Scaramouche let out a confused sigh "I don't know!" she cried " Most of me is terrified at the thought of having a baby!" She paused for a second " But there is a part of me that kind of wants to go through with this..." She rested her hands on her stomach before turning to face Galileo. " But, if... if we decide to go through with this, what if the wrong people find out? Killer Queen is still out there and she knows who we are!" she said fearfully.
Scaramouche leaned against Galileo's chest, hoping he could find some way to reassure her. " I don't want to put the life of an innocent child in danger." she said, glancing up at Galileo's face.

Galileo looked at Scaramouche. For the first time he properly saw the fear and vulnerability reflected in her face. He blinked a few times, trying to process all of what she was saying.
What she was saying was very true. The Killer Queen was still out there, albeit she was in hiding. No-one knew were she was or had any possible ideas. It was still very likely that she was building an army to rebel and take the Bohemians out for good. He didn't want that; not now not ever. Over his dead body.
Galileo wrapped an arm around Scaramouche, laying his head on top of hers. His face contorted, deep in thought. Scaramouche was, again, right. What was the point in sacrificing an innocent child? Especially at the hands of the Killer Queen. "Scaramouche," he began tentitively. "I... If... I..." he paused slightly to gather his thoughts. He started again. "Scaramouche, whatever decision you make... I want you to know that I... support you... no matter what." He pressed a tender kiss into her hair, closing his eyes as he inhaled her unique scent that he loved so much.

Scaramouche closed her eyes and let out a sigh, enjoying the feel of Galileo's arms around her. She felt so safe right now, with him. And with those simple words he said, she knew what her decision was.
She sat up straighter and smiled slightly for the first time in a while. " Let's do this." she said, gripping Galileo's hands. If she was meant to be a mother, then she will be. No one will take her child away from her, not Killer Queen, not anyone. There was no way in Hell she would let that happen.
